Are you an experienced veterinary practice manager with a passion for both balancing teams and balancing accounts?
Are you so much of a horse lover that you practically speak “horse” as a second language?
Do you want to be a central part of building a legacy whilst working in a fun, friendly and motivated team?
If so, then read on, we may have just the role for you.
About us!
Harbour Ridge Equine is a boutique equine practice that provides excellent patient care and customer service through a phenomenal team of veterinarians and support staff. Our practice is primarily ambulatory and situated on a beautiful 15 acre facility just outside Palm City, FL. Our patients range from upper level competition to back yard and pleasure horse and our setup allows us to have haul-in appointments and provide hospitalization for select (non emergency) cases.
Harbour Ridge Equine exists because we are horse lovers, working together to solve problems that help our patients and owners when they need us most. Our clients also love their horses and the state of the art diagnostics and treatments that we are able to provide. We all speak “horse” as a second language and are proud of the equine knowledge that exists within our team.
Our mission is to build a thriving, sustainable and cohesive team around five veterinarians and to become the provider of choice for equine veterinary services on the Treasure Coast of Florida.
Harbour Ridge Equine is an independently owned practice that was purchased in 2009 as a single DVM, ambulatory only practice. Since then, the practice has grown into a 4 DVM practice working out of an 8,000 sq ft clinic with all of the expected equipment and a loyal clientele. We’ve worked hard to achieve a very high level of financial stability that means we can operate without too much compromise. We want to build on that so we can offer the highest quality of care possible.
Values and culture are really important to us and we have worked hard over the past two years to create the processes and systems that allow us all to give great care and to be happy in our work. We strive to act with integrity, we are motivated to achieve solutions, we are reliable to each other and clients, and we place importance on teamwork.
Most importantly of all, providing clients with professional, kind, respectful and timely service matters to us. Whether they call to schedule an appointment or we are taking care of an emergency, we want them to have a great experience and to remember how we made them feel during the interaction. We don’t want to confuse them, we don’t want to surprise them and we don’t want to make them have to call back.
As well as practising high quality veterinary medicine, our team (of 4 veterinarians and 10 support staff) all love to make the most of what this area has to offer outside of work. Paddle-boarding, waterskiing, fishing, baking and golf are our favorite non-equestrian pastimes. We are a friendly, sociable team that enjoys trivia nights, frequenting local breweries and Sandbar Sundays.
Florida's Treasure Coast is a great location to call home with excellent schools, privately owned restaurants and endless outdoor activities. We are situated 2 hours north of Miami and 2 hours south of Orlando with fabulous beaches. As part of the benefits package we even offer use of our canal-front vacation home in Key Colony Beach.
About you!
We’re looking for someone who can epitomise everything that Harbour Equine stands for. Practice culture is paramount to you and having a Mission Statement and Values that your team lives by is your dream. We’ve already created a great culture but we need you to take it, own it and grow it for the long term.
You are a problem solver with vision, and a detail focused person that enjoys leading and coaching a team. You have a deep understanding of people and are an excellent mediator, effortlessly defusing conflict. You cringe at drama and huge egos and seek ways to minimise their impact for the good of your team.
To you, patient care and the wellbeing of your team is paramount. You are not in the business of chasing profit for profit’s sake (and neither are we) and you exist to create stability and longevity for the benefit of your clients and staff.
Horses are important to you and you will have experience of common treatments. Ideally you are a CVPM and have previously managed a veterinary practice with more than two veterinarians and associated support staff. It’s OK with us if this was a small animal or mixed practice, but you must love horses and be able to speak the lingo with our team, vendors and clients.
You love to explore a P&L and you’re actually one of those people who finds it fun to analyze a balance sheet. HR and Payroll are a walk in the park for you. You have a passion for practice growth and development and enjoy all of the bumps in the road that it entails.
You will be in a pivotal role in our practice, creating and running a managerial setup that will help us achieve our long term aims. You will be at the heart of everything our practice stands for for years to come so it is vital to us that we get the right person for this role.
